In Season, In Stroke

YEAR, LAUNCH

2026, Zhejiang, China

“In Season, In Stroke — Appreciating Flower-and-Bird Painting from the Ming–Qing Dynasties to the Modern Era & An Invitational Exhibition Featuring Contemporary Artists” by Guanxiang Art, Zhejiang, China.

This exhibition brings together 29 historical collections from the Ming and Qing dynasties alongside works by 5 contemporary #femaleartists , forming a dialogue across centuries — between ink and time, tradition and renewal.

Emerging from the intellectual liberation sparked by Wang Yangming’s philosophy of “Innate Knowing (致良知)”, the late Ming era witnessed not only artistic flourishing but also the awakening of female voices in culture and painting.

From the expressive ink language of Xu Wei to the elegant strength of #women painters such as Li Yin and Shen Xiu, flower-and-bird painting became more than depiction — it became a reflection of identity, spirit, and presence.

“In Season, In Stroke” is a journey through petals, feathers, and brushlines —
where every stroke carries a season,
and every season carries a story.

Grateful to work with such meaning collections and contemporary voices, allowing classical aesthetics to continue breathing in digital space.
